Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), is a hormonal disorder sometimes called, Stein-Leventhal syndrome. Bodies need both “male” and “female” hormones to work properly, but a woman with PCOS has too much of the male hormones.
This can create a problem with your ovaries causing irregular periods or no periods, as well as cysts in a “string of pearls” pattern. It is also a common cause of infertility.
